For those of you who have a lot of important stuff in your Gmail account, there is a programme that generates a backing up your data to your computer in a very simple way. What we will have to do is:
-Download the Gmail Backup program.
-Install it by the normal procedure (on Windows).
-Open the programme and enter your email address and password.
-Select the folder where you want the copy to be saved (in *.eml format).
-And press the Backup key.
After all this, it will have created a backup copy of our messages. In the same utility, there is also a function to upload the backup to an account.
A great programme that will save you headaches because of your lost messages.
