How to make a loudspeaker.

Many people ask me what they can do with a damaged loudspeaker, I usually answer that it is better to find another one with the same characteristics and replace it, thus saving time and effort. Today we are going to see how we can make a loudspeakerAlthough it may not be useful to replace a factory one, it may help us to learn a little more about them in order to carry out a repair.

- 3 plastic cups.

- A magnet (if it is a neodymium magnet, it is better, these are very powerful).

- Enamelled cable reel.

- A radio.

- A jack type plug.

- Cable.

- Adhesive tape.

- Scissors.

1.- First we attach the magnet to the bottom of one of the glasses with some tape.

Speaker cups

2.- Now we will make the coil, for this we wind around two fingers about 20 turns of enamelled wire. Remember to leave a little bit of thread at the ends.

3.- On the back of another glass we stick the coil with a piece of tape.

4.- We place the magnet cup inside the coil cup and the coil cup inside another cup to protect the loudspeaker.

5.- We scrape the ends of the enamelled cable (or we burn it a little with a soldering iron) and we join them to the jack type plug by means of cable (if we can solder all this much better).

Homemade speakers

6.- Plug the plug into the radio's speaker connector and place the speaker close to the ear to listen to the radio.

I have some speakers of 240 watts each one but it distorts the sound when I connect it sounds like something is broken and I don't know how to know what is wrong, as I have been told that it is the winding that is part of the wiring, others that the speakers are of great capacity for the equipment that I use.

  2. It looks a bit more difficult, but if I try I don't lose anything... I'm going to see if today is the worker's day, I'll try it and see if I can get it...

    Good article!
